New Ravonettes - "Dead Sound"

We're enjoying the heavy helpings of dark psychedelics and Jesus and Mary Chain fuzz served up on the Raveonettes new record “Lust Lust Lust”. Last week we debuted the crackling "Aly, Walk With Me" as a part of the 'Gum Drop newsletter. Click here [stereogum.com] for a listen. Multi-instrumental guitarist and co-vocalist Sune Rose Wagner shed some light on the tune for us:

“Aly is a girl I started writing with a long time ago and we developed this strange long-distance "relationship," which was very powerful. I wrote the song about her 'cause I used to dream up all these scenarios about how or where we would first meet when that beautiful day would finally come. It turned out our first meeting was in New York City, just like the song.”

Now we're hearing some spectors of Ronnie and various dusky girl groups dancing amid the guitar bursts on the new track "Dead Sound." Click here [www.stereogum.com] to listen to the track.

The Danish duo have really nailed it -- those chimes, heart-y pulses, guitar sound, poppy harmonies, etc. Wagner and Sharin Foo's Vice Records debut and follow-up to 2005's “Pretty In Black” will be out sometime in early 2008. Rave on!
